Description
The trail leads along the Geichlinger Bach up the valley over the Schandenhügel to Lahr, follows the Lahrer Bach to Hüttingen and then the Notzenbach to Kewenig Castle and Niedersgegen.
The babbling of streams accompanies us on this tour through the hilly, open landscape between Körperich, Lahr, Hüttingen and Niedersgegen. There are always beautiful views across fields and meadows and of the villages.
In Hüttingen, the oven and iron museum invites you to visit. There you can take a break in the "Ofenstube" museum café and enjoy some refreshments.
The proud castle and farm estates of the fertile "Goldener Grund", including the magnificent Kewenig Castle, are lined up along the valley of the Gaybach. The hike ends back in Körperich at your starting point, where there are also opportunities to stop for refreshments, for example at the "Im Goldenen Grund" restaurant.

The circular hiking trail is marked throughout with the corresponding trail number by the Südeifel Nature Park.
From Körperich, follow Hüttinger Straße for a short distance until you turn left onto a dirt road. From here, you walk through a wide, hilly landscape to the hilltop just before Lahr, before hiking downhill and then through the village. Parallel to Dorfstraße, the trail leads through a wide meadow valley to Hüttingen, where it soon turns onto (partly asphalted) dirt roads towards Kewenig Castle. Directly in front of the castle, turn right into the forest and follow it for a good distance. Once you reach the top, you will soon see the first houses of Niedersgegen. The trail leads through the original district and past the castle and farm estates of the Goldener Grund directly back to Körperich and the hiking car park.
For your own safety, please stay on designated paths at all times and do not leave them.
