The Southern Eifel Rock Region – The name says it all: This vacation region in the southwestern Eifel is characterized by rock – yet it is extraordinarily diverse and varied!

The southern part of the region—the area around Irrel, Ernzen, Ferschweiler, and Bollendorf—is dominated by bizarre rock formations made of Luxembourg sandstone. The north is defined by the slate cliffs of the Islek along the deeply incised valleys of the Enz and Our rivers. Thus, the landscape right on the German-Luxembourg border is characterized by a unique diversity.
