Südeifel Nature Park

The Südeifel Nature Park is a large-scale protected area in the Eifel region that is particularly well-suited for immersive nature experiences due to its diverse landscape and the resulting abundance of native flora and fauna.

The Südeifel Nature Park was founded in 1958, making it the oldest nature park in Rhineland-Palatinate and the second oldest in Germany. It is also the German part of Europe’s first cross-border nature park, the German-Luxembourg Nature Park.

The Südeifel Nature Park covers an area of 432 square kilometers and has approximately 30,000 residents. It combines the protection and use of nature and the landscape, preserving the opportunity to maintain the distinctive character of the Südeifel’s typical landscapes and manage them sustainably. At the same time, it creates attractive recreational opportunities and tourist attractions for the region’s residents and visitors.
