Description
Scenic route from Ammeldingen via Grimbach and Plascheid back to Ammeldingen.
The R1 circular hiking trail offers sweeping views of the Southern Eifel landscape with the villages of Emmelbaum, Olmscheid, Jucken, Karlshausen, Leimbach, Scheuern and Plascheid.
Idyllic forest sections and narrow gorges are also on the program. Among other things, the route leads along former "Loh forests". Loh was once used as a tanning agent in the production of leather.
During the hike, you even walk a section of the "Jakobs-Pilger-Weg" before returning to the starting point in Ammeldingen.
